Way to do some hard things Ladies:D  We are doing a makeup day for the girlies who missed a day or two:D  We will see their pics as soon as they are ready:D WOOHOO:D  The final project we did was the charity quilt block. 😀  Ill do another post on that as we get closer to finishing the blanket:D

It’s So Fluffy!!!

Smiles & Fluffy Pillow Making

ITS SO FLUFFY!!  Love making these with the girls!  Thanks Jazmyne for the serious good times.  I never realized how much I LOVE teaching kiddos to sew.  Ive been living it up this week!! I feel on top of the world and excited for this new chapter of sewing!  Seeing these girls light up with Amazement that they can accomplish these things and feel secure in themselves because they have a skill and they are good at it!!  I LOVE THIS!!! This is what life is all about:D!! Glad to share this with them!! and you:D haha

on a side note:D

These are super fun and simple to make.  The one complaint I get in camp is how much pinning it takes.  I just use this

material because a. It is super soft and b. by the time they are done they will be experts in pinning:D  The last line on

these pillows is usually the first line they sew all by themselves on the sewing machine:D  They LOVE sewing on the

Machine!! Its like Christmas at my house every time!!

Positive Peer Pressure and the Power of Starting Something Stupid!

Projects by Mandy is one of my stupid Ideas:D Ive dabbled with hash tagging it on instagram and storing photos on my computer for when some day I would post them on my blog or someday..out there..I would use these things. Just not now.
Well my friends. This book helped me realize that starting now is the best idea anyone ever had!!

My favorite chapter was the last one. Leverage. What I have to leverage is an amazing creative partner and a passion for youth and a passion for sewing. So we thought lets put something on the table that brings the two together. I am so excited to be jumping in feet first to this sewing camp project:D It is the first of many projects to come forth from this one stupid Idea:D Im excited to see where all of my baby steps take me in five ten fifteen and twenty years from now haha:D

I owe the expedience of starting in part to this book and I know that its not much yet. But it feels right. It makes my blood tingle and my heart thump louder:D What more can I ask for from a simple project?

I LOVE the analogy Ritchie uses on page 122 with the big wave surfer Andy Pierce. To paraphrase, the man got tore up in a wave and didn’t let his fear get in the way of getting back out there. “Pretty much everyone out there in those giant waves feels scared in one way or another. They just surf anyways.

Well I have to tell you fear is not catching me either:D Im leaning into it and this stupid idea like Richie says:D! If I’m scared then I’m doing something right! I’m living I’m moving I’m changing!! and it feels amazing!

What are your stupid ideas and what are you waiting for? What can you leverage to get started now? Just do it!!:D

I love the power of positive peer pressure!;D Not very long ago I took a girls trip down to St. George and we decided to make it EPIC haha:D one of the ways we made it memorable was by jumping off a cliff into some FREEEZING cold water:D The two of us that were already wet had no problems jumping in but the ladies who were dry had other excuses for not getting wet. We didn’t let that stop them from making this beautiful memory:D Me and my already wet friends cheered and applauded and helped and before you know it we were all soaking wet having fun and no regrets:D That is what I’m attempting here. In this blog:D If I can jump in and get a little wet then so can we all!! Lets just go for it ladies and gents:D Lets jump and make memories and live a whole hearted, full life that we can look back on with a smile and a shake of the head at how much daring we had and how much fun and how much JOY!! Lets do this!! 😀

Get your copy here! Its worth so much more than every penny!!:D
THe Power of Starting Something Stupid.

P.S. If you haven’t checked out the online book club Natalie Reads on facebook. Go and join and read the books! Everyone of them will move you towards a more fulfilling meaningful life!!
WOOHOOO!!! Way to be:D Now if I can finish this first project I will be one step closer to my goal:D

P.S.S. Just one of my favorite parts:D”Just as valuable as experience, is an eagerness to learn and a willingness to constantly seek improvement to get the job done. Covey taught me that authentic experience is gained not by simply strapping yourself in and doing the time, but through constantly (and sincerely) seeking learning and improvement along the road to success.” -p. 70 Starting Something Stupid/Richard Norton/Natalie Norton 😀

Good Morning Love

My sweet husband of 11.5 years wrote this song for me about three years ago. His love and sweet tenderness are all over this song. I remember the morning he got the inspiration for it. The sun shone through the window and we were laughing and talking and just enjoying each other, when he pulled out his guitar and started this song. I will always treasure this memory. Every time I hear this song my heart melts my knees go soft and my soul soars:D

Thank you Jake for making me feel beautiful and lovely and like I can. I love you more every day!! Will you marry me? again? Im seriously the luckiest girl on the planet!! You are so full of love and compassion and hilarity!! Thank you for making my life so full and happy and sunny:D

Love Mandy:D

Check it out here and you can even download it from his site just click the title in the pic:D Yayeee!! its free for a little bit:D
I hope you relate to this song at some time in your lives and enjoy it as much as I have 😀

Paulina’s College quilt :D

Paulina needed a College quilt and her favorite is purple so I grabbed every purple material in the store and made my first squares mink blankie! Tada!!:D I made it wild and crazy on one side and classy on the other so she could change her room with her moods 😀
You would think there would bee too much peel to work with this mink stuff, but its really not so bad as long as you shake it in the garbage every time you cut it haha:D the peel has actually become a favorite of mine with this material because when I’m done with a blanket the colors are still all over my carpet and it makes me smile:D
I grew up watching this girl grow up and I couldn’t be more proud of her and her college self:D Love you Polly:D

Baby Zara’s Blanket…and its nasty mean backing:D Will it be worth it?

Baby Zara is a very special little girl who needed a very special blanket.  I love working on blankets for loved ones who are far away.  It makes me feel like they are here with me.

Different from other mink projects, the back is horrible to work with and it gets stuck in baby’s face and its just super hard to line up…But!! its super soft and super cute and once you get the hang of shaking the material, every time you cut it, into the garbage then there is lots less vacuuming and sneezing… And once baby appreciates the difficulty in making this crazy blanket she will realize how much her Auntie Mandy loves her 😀  or not.

Either way this adventure is only starting.  This material thing will be mastered and the corners will be perfect…it might take 5 and it might take 100 but it will be mine…oh yes…it will be mine… at least once:D Like the perfect wave:D  just once is never enough!

Then again perfection never was happiness haha:D  Happiness is seeing Baby Zara three years old and still dragging fuzzy around everywhere:D

Love both my Princesses:D  Her mom is my baby too haha:D  I feel old and Blessed!

Minky Pillow Case

This is a beautiful Pillow case made of mink material. Soft and almost silky I adore these pillow cases! Excited to have the kids make them and bring them home to your family.
